Day Services for Adults with Disabilities

Adult Day Services provide a variety of programs and flexibility in services so that we can best meet the needs of individuals with developmental challenges and maximize individual strengths. We provide services that will foster greater independence, increase community involvement and improve social interaction. 

Adult Day Services

Adult Day services at the Barber National Institute include:

  • Club Erie - a community-based service to help adults with intellectual disabilities acquire, maintain, and improve skills while accessing their community, building friendships and having fun.

  • Journeys - a wide range of daily programs, community outings, adult basic education, prevocational services, technology, and art, for adults who prefer a variety of choices as well as those who require more intensive treatment.

  • Wheels in Motion program for improving motor skills - an innovative program encouraging the consumer to develop personal and work-related interests in an environment that is conducive to their unique needs.

  • Home & Community Habilitation - an alternative to traditional facility-based programs and adult training facilities, this program is based out of the individual’s home and allows for greater flexibility in exploring their community and reaching their personal goals.

  • Lakeside Senior Center - activities at the Lakeside Senior Center are designed to meet the social, intellectual, cultural, economic, emotional, physical and spiritual needs & interests of the seniors.
