At Barber National Institute, we believe life is better when shared with friends! Our Expanding Social Opportunities (ESO) program provides experiences for adults, with and without disabilities, on a personal and social basis.
Throughout the year, Barber National Institute partners with local universities to bring together college-aged peers and adults 18 and over with autism or an intellectual disability in a fun, positive and safe environment for all participants.

Referral and Eligibility for Inclusive Social Opportunities
- To access services at Barber National Institute, contact Erie County Cares Management whose intake department will guide you through the eligibility assessment, helping you gather the necessary information.
- Initial Contact: (814) 528-0601, expert@eccm.org, ECCM contact form
- Once eligibility is confirmed, a service coordinator will work with you to develop a personalized plan and connect you with the appropriate services at Barber National Institute
- ESO Summer Camp & ESO Dances are an allowable service of Family Support Services.
