Runner's Club Presents Check to the Gertrude A. Barber Foundation

Race co-chairs Suzy Carstater and Teresa Wigham, along with Dave Comi, President of the Erie Runners Club, presented Gary Bukowski, vice president for advancement, with a check totaling $7,000.

The Erie Runners Club presented a check worth $7,000 to benefit the Dr. Gertrude A. Barber Foundation during a picnic held Monday, June 11. The money was raised by the more than 700 runners/walkers and many sponsors participating in this year’s Mother’s Day Race held at Presque Isle State Park.

For the second year in a row, participants had the option to run or walk in the 5k race, or to join in a half-mile untimed "fun run." The run offered youngsters, families and persons using wheelchairs a greater opportunity to participate in the event.
