Job Description

Mobile Therapist

Meet the specific behavioral health needs of children and their families using research and evidence-based therapy models as a Mobile Therapist.

In a community-based position, strive to help patients make meaningful progress toward recovery as part of the Barber Behavioral Health Institute.

Mobile Therapist Responsibilities:

  • Assessing the strengths and therapeutic needs of the child and family
  • Including the child as a participant in the child’s own treatment
  • Including parents or other caretakers of the child as members of the treatment team and partners in the treatment
  • Encouraging active participation from the family in the on-going changes, updates, etc. in the child’s treatment efforts, including IEP’s and other formal reviews
  • Providing child centered, family focused or individual therapy, as agreed upon by the therapist, family, prescriber and funding source
  • Collaborating with the child, family and other involved professionals to develop daily routines in times of crisis and transition in order to provide unified service and the continued care to the child and family
  • Providing ongoing assessment, program design and implementation of the support plan to stabilize the child or adolescent
  • Complete all required documentation for the individual as outlined by funding source regulations and in accordance with Barber National Institute procedures and timelines

Qualifications for Mobile Therapist:

  • Must be a Licensed Mental Health Professional or have a Master’s Degree in a mental health field with a clinical practicum or 9 credits in a clinical discipline and one-year experience providing mental health services to children
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle
  • Eligibility for State Police Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse History Clearance
  • FBI clearance required
