Students Take on the Mini Beast

While students in the Elizabeth Lee Black School are too young to participate in Barber Beast on the Bay on September 7, they are showing that they indeed have what it takes to “beat the beast.”  Youngsters are participating in an elaborate obstacle course challenge set up in the Gym and developed by school faculty.

A government survey is now estimating that autism affects one in every 50 children, making it more important than ever to raise awareness about autism spectrum disorders. April marks Autism Awareness Month, and the Barber National Institute, children and families kicked it off early with a special Autism Awareness Day at the Millcreek Mall Saturday, March 23.
