For decades, our pool has been a place where individuals of all ages and abilities come together to learn, play, exercise, and thrive.

Designed with accessibility in mind, our pool welcomes children, adults, and families of all abilities. The average pool temperature is 90 degrees, which is therapeutic for body aches and pains. Waterproof chairs are also available for wheelchair-bound patrons to help them enter the water with ease and use our shower facilities.

From swim lessons and water fitness programs to open swim and facility rentals, the pool provides safe, supportive opportunities for individuals to build confidence, stay active, and enjoy time in the water.

 Mitch Bosse, Aquatics Director

Welcome to Barber National Institute's Pool & Natatorium

Hi!

My name is Mitchell Bosse, and I am the new aquatics director at Barber National Institute. Over my aquatics career, I’ve worked closely with individuals with intellectual disabilities and those on the autism spectrum. I have extensive experience in adaptive recreation, including working as a wilderness therapy guide. My career has taken me from operations management within the airport sector to the pool deck as an aquatics director, lifeguard instructor, and competitive swim coach.

I am excited to lead our aquatics program and create a safe, inclusive, and engaging aquatics environment for the Erie community.
