Celebrate mom’s special day with the Mother’s Day Race sponsored by the Erie Runners Club on Sunday, May 12 at Presque Isle State Park. Partial proceeds will benefit the Dr. Gertrude A. Barber Foundation. While students in the Elizabeth Lee Black School are too young to participate in Barber Beast on the Bay on September 7, they are showing that they indeed have what it takes to “beat the beast.” Youngsters are participating in an elaborate obstacle course challenge set up in the Gym and developed by school faculty. Students in the Elizabeth Lee Black School took to the stage to perform their rendition of The Very Hungry Caterpillar on Friday, March 22 at the Barber National Institute.
