Show Highlights Adults with Autism

The Barber National Institute collaborated with WQLN Public television to discuss the challenges and opportunities for persons with autism as they transition from school into the adult system.

The presentation included “Autism: Aging Out” a feature produced by WQED Public Television in Pittsburgh.  A panel from the Barber National Institute provided opening and closing discussions and included Dr.  Maureen Barber-Carey, executive vice president and author of the blog “All About Autism;” Carrie Kontis, chief officer for Intellectual Disabilities Services; Cecelia Hollands, director of Clinical Services; and Karen Groshek, the parent of an adult child with autism.
