The Barber National Institute recognizes two local baseball legends, Rich Matlak and Joe Cook. First Niagara Bank donated $20,000 through Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC) to provide preschool scholarships. The proceeds from the 2010 City-County All Star Baseball Game were presented recently to the Barber National Institute. The $10,220 donation was the largest in the Game's history.
