MyBike Program Gives Bikes to 13 Children

The partnership between the Barber National Institute and Variety, the Children's Charity, resulted in 13 more bikes being given to children with physical and developmental disabilities on Tuesday.

The excitement from the children receiving the bikes was only matched by the parents who were proud to see their children receive a bike, which for many was their first ever bike.

Todd Harvey, Sr., whose son, Todd, Jr. received a bike, was especially ecstastic.

“I’d run with him and his bike to our house if it wasn’t so far,” he said, smiling, before quickly adding, “not that I couldn’t do it, of course.”

And after seeing his son ride around the gym of the Barber National Institute, he took a moment to reflect on the entire day.

“I never thought in a million years that my son would ride a bike, or do many of the other things that he's now able to do,” he said. “But with the help of the staff at the Barber National Institute, he is doing so many things. Miracles do happen.”
