Mini-Beast a Hit With Students

Penny, a student in our Pre-K Counts program, bounded across the floor, her head finally peaking through the streams of water that stretched their way down to the ground.

She was, of course, smiling, as it was all part of the manufactured fun that is the mini-Barber Beast on the Bay.  Her adventure took place in the gym -- her river a gym floor, her vessel a four-wheeled scooter board. And the streams of water? Blue streamers hanging from pieces of plastic, naturally.

Students of all ages had their chance to participate in the mini-Beast on the Bay, as gym teacher Gage Bunker set up various obstacles throughout the gym for students to try. The obstacles made sure to give students new opportunities not only physically, but also by providing tactile experiences for students to try.
