25th Lifesharing Program Anniversary

Provider families and the adults they serve came together to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the program that brought them together. A dinner for the Lifesharing Program was held at the Barber National Institute for all participants and staff.

Lifesharing was established to enable families, which could include traditional families, empty-nesters, couples or individuals, to bring an adult with intellectual disabilities into their home to form an enduring, long-term relationship. Providers receive support from staff at the Barber National Institute to match them with adults and to help them in addressing needs.

Since the program began in 1994, it has served more than 60 adults and their provider families.

Lifesharing is looking for providers who are interested in learning more about the opportunity. For more information, contact the Lifesharing program at the Barber National Institute at 814-878-4115.
