October is the month we celebrate Disability Employment Awareness Month.
Young students returning to classes at the Barber National Institute had more to be excited about than just the start of a new school year. They would soon be greeted by the opening of a new playground specially designed for preschool and early grade students. Adults with autism, intellectual disabilities or other special needs often face unique dangers when they are out in the community or online. The Barber National Institute will offer a free presentation specially developed for adults to help them learn strategies for staying safe. A Pittsburgh band comprised of adults with autism will perform at the kick off dance for Expanding Social Opportunities (ESO) program at the Barber National Institute on Friday, Sept. 15.Disability Employment Awareness Month
