Project Search Graduates Employment Ready
Now in its fifth year, Project SEARCH® has graduated dozens of students to the workforce. This year’s class was no different- nine students graduating and nine entering the workforce or continuing education.
“Working at Saint Vincent feels amazing. They make me feel like family. I like making my patients feel safe – like they are at home – and put a smile on their face,” said Braylen Easter, 19, in an interview right before his graduation in May. “This has been an incredible experience. I’ve not only found a job I love, but I met my best friends in the world (speaking of his classmates).”
Loren Cicero is the manager of the AHN Saint Vincent Hospital imaging department. “As soon as I heard about Project SEARCH®, I went to my team and said, ‘yeah, let’s do it’. Our team has been very willing to take interns and teach them skills, find their strengths and help them build their future.”
Easter feels lucky. “This program changed my life. I got hands-on experience, learned how to be professional, and found out what I was capable of. Thanks to Project SEARCH®, I believe in myself. I’m thinking about going to school to become a radiology technician.”
