Our Own Candle Company Donation Honors Dr. Barber

Faith, Hope and Love – This is the legacy of Dr. Gertrude A. Barber that we strive to carry out every day. With the support of generous businesses, such as Our Own Candle Company, the Barber National Institute carries out this mission of serving more than 4,200 children and adults with disabilities.

Larry and Terri Gross, owners of Our Own Candle Company, recently presented a donation of $7,100 to Gary Bukowski, CFRE, vice president for Advancement. The proceeds were raised through candle sales held in the Findley Lake, NY-based store, as well as online and in the Gift Shop at Barber Place.

In addition to bestselling scents, such as apple pie and French vanilla, the company included candles called “Faith, Hope and Love” to commemorate Dr. Barber’s mission.

The company selected the Gertrude A. Barber Foundation as the recipient of the proceeds and in honor of Dr. Barber's 100th Birthday celebration and the $1,000,000 Challenge.  For more information about the Challenge and how you can make a difference, visit click here.
