2018 Patrons
The shamrock was selected by our founder, Dr. Gertrude A. Barber, to be the central and identifying symbol of the Barber National Institute. The shamrock’s three heart-shaped leaves represent courageous faith, inspired hope and enduring love as well as the integral relationship of the Barber Institute individuals, families and staff. The stem represents unwavering community support.
The shamrock above was inspired by an original drawing by a student in the Elizabeth Lee Black School at the Barber National Institute. It has also been reproduced as a green & white scarf that will be available to purchase at the Ladies Only Luncheon in the Boutique of Vendors.Jennifer Pontzer, Chair
