Job Description

As the Nursing Supervisor, you will provide significant input into the development and implementation of policy, procedures and projects as related to health services in the Barber National Institute – a multi-company organization in the human service industry.

The position is accountable for the supervision of four nurses and the coordination of Health Services for individuals with disabilities as they live active and fulfilling lives. Responsibilities:

  • Supervise nursing personnel, Nurses, Health Services Associate and Medical Transport Drivers
  • Complete timekeeping responsibilities as required
  • Maintain nursing caseloads, update as needed and participate in coverage
  • Ensure regulatory compliance across programs, as well as compliance with Barber National Institute and Health Services Department procedures
  • Participate in Quality Assurance rounds and ensure follow-up of any issues identified
  • Participate in training of Direct Service Professionals and in development of new training programs related to care of the Individuals
  • Oversee coordination of nurse’s participation in team meetings, medication practicum’s and training
  • Oversee Maintenance of medical records to ensure accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with state and federal guidelines
  • Conduct regular visits to the residential sites and other program sites to assess the needs of the Individuals and provide support to direct care staff on health-related issues

Qualifications

  • R.N. licensed in the State of PA and qualified to pass medications
  • One year minimum of hospital clinical experience
  • One year supervisory experience
  • 5 years of nursing experience
  • Experience working with developmentally disabled adults
  • Certification in CPR for health professionals
  • Valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle, proof of insurance and proof of registration
  • Eligibility for State Police Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse History Clearance
  • FBI clearance required for individuals who do not meet PA residency requirements
