Job Description

Help persons with an intellectual disability join a provider family or companion, to become a fully participating member of a family.

This full-time position will have you directing the interdisciplinary team to coordinate and maintain effective relationships with inter-agency support staff as well as other service agencies, families, and the general public to further the goals of the Barber National Institute and the individuals it serves. From coordinating program plans to monitoring and tracking individual’s progress in all ISP authorized services; you will be working toward one goal: making sure our clients lead active and independent lives.

Responsibilities for Program Specialist-Lifesharing:
• Planning, developing and recommending individual program plans
• Responsible for completing all home studies
• Assuring all programs meet standards for licensure and state regulations are met
• Monitoring and supervising monthly visits to each individual’s household
• Responsible for completion of appointments and reviewing monthly account overviews

Qualifications for Program Specialist-Lifesharing:
• Must be 18 years of age
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field
• Supervisory experience and extensive knowledge with working with individuals with disabilities preferred
• Valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle
• Eligibility for State Police Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse History Clearance
• FBI clearance required for individuals who do not meet PA residency requirements
