The Barber National Institute opens its doors to the community with a variety of services and facilities, including:



• Barber National Institute Swimming Pool

  The pool offers many programs and classes to the community including:

  • Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program
  • American Red Cross swim instruction
  • Family swims
  • Adult Open Exercise
  • Deep water exercises
  • Saturday pool parties

  The pool features a hydraulic movable floor that rises to the level of the deck and lowers to 4.5 feet, so no patron will have difficulty entering and exiting the pool. Because of the special needs of many of our patrons, our pool is kept at a therapeutic and soothing temperature between 88-94 degrees.

• Terrace Garden Café

  Enjoy the ambiance of an outdoor garden conveniently located on the ground floor of the Barber National Institute North Complex. Serve yourself with selections for breakfast and lunch, including muffins, salads, soup, pizza, sandwiches and desserts.
  
  Open Monday-Friday from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

• Lakefront Restaurant

  Windows overlook the bay in this setting at the bluff on East Avenue. Enjoy soups, sandwiches and grilled items.
  Open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

• Gift Shop at 100 Barber Place

  Shop for unique gifts, including many items handmade by adults attending Barber National Institute programs. Selections include floral wreaths, decorative gift bags and cards and seasonal items. Open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the lobby of the Barber National Institute north complex.
