Katrice
Everyone who knew Katrice Fisher recognized that she would be a hard-working, loyal employee. She just needed some help in finding the right match.
Katrice worked for several years in Production Services at the Barber National Institute, where her focus on finishing assembly jobs for area companies made her one of the most productive workers. With some encouragement from her staff, Katrice moved into the Transition to Work Service, giving her the opportunity to try out various food service and maintenance jobs to see what suited her interests and abilities.
When an opportunity opened up at UPMC Hamot, Katrice jumped at the chance for community employment. Today, she loves her job as a sanitation assistant. “I like talking to patients when I clean their rooms and hope that I can make them feel better while they are here,” said Katrice. She also likes being able to make many of her own decisions while on the job.
