Lifeguard - Part-Time
Ensure the safety of children and adults participating in aquatic and therapeutic activities in Barber National Institute’s state-of-the-art pool. Lifeguard must be in the pool or at the pool’s edge when individuals are in the pool. Responsibilities include participating in therapeutic activities with individuals with disabilities, maintaining safety in the pool and surrounding area, class order, taking life-saving measures when necessary and participating in the maintenance of pool and equipment. Currently, this program is only working with students within the school aged 3-21 years.
Other duties of the Lifeguard are to perform chemical readings, maintain a neat and clean pool and deck area including mopping, scrubbing out the ring, scooping out debris, vacuuming the pool, putting equipment away and any other housekeeping. The Lifeguard is also responsible to raise and lower the floor of the pool and helping students enter and exit the pool.
