First Niagara Bank presents $14,000 donation

First Niagara recently presented a $14,000 donation to the Barber National Institute to help fund scholarships for students seeking a quality preschool education. The donation was made through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC).

The scholarship fund is administered through the Barber National Institute and scholarships are awarded to qualifying families in the region.

Through the EITC Program, businesses can earn a substantial tax credit while making contributions to innovative education services. In addition to the Preschool Scholarship Program, businesses can contribute to the School-Age Program, which supports children with disabilities and funds technology, adaptive equipment, and other services in the Elizabeth Lee Black School.

Businesses interested in making an EITC donation should contact Dr. Maureen Barber-Carey at 814-878-5903 or email MaureenBarberCarey@BarberInstitute.org. More information is available at //www.barberinstitute.org/giving-tax-credit-program
