Residential Community Homes

The Barber National Institute opened its first community home in Erie County in 1973. We now operate 46 homes in neighborhoods throughout Erie, Millcreek, Fairview, Girard and Corry.

Community homes enable small groups of individuals to reside together, sharing their homes and building relationships with each other and staff. A continuum of services and supports is available to help individuals achieve greater independence, learn new skills and participate fully in community events and activities. All homes are licensed by the Department of Public Welfare Chapter 6400 Regulations.
