Health Services Department

The Health Services Department provides medical and health support to children and adults throughout all programs at the Dr. Gertrude A. Barber National Institute. School nurses are on site throughout the school day to meet the varied needs of students. Nursing staff also manage the diverse and often complex health-related needs of adults in our day programs. Our largest service utilizes a team of nurse case managers, primary care physicians and specialists to provide complete primary medical care to individuals living within our group homes. All of our efforts are directed at educating our staff and our individuals on maintaining and improving good health with an emphasis on wellness and illness prevention.
