City vs. County All-Star Baseball Game Set for June 18

The call "Play Ball!" will be heard Friday, June 18 as the 45th Annual City vs. County All-Star Baseball Game gets underway at Jerry Uht Park. THe best players from the region's high schools will gather at 6:30 PM for opening ceremonies, with the game set for 7 PM. Again this year, all proceeds will remain in Erie County to benefit the more than 3,600 children and adults with disabilities served by the Barber National Institute.

During the opening ceremonies, the "Baseball Person of the Year" award will be presented to former player and coach Joe Frisina, and the "Legacy Award" will be presented in memory of Villa Maria Academy coach Joe Lunger.

Anyone wishing to support the game is invited to reserve a patron ad in the game program by calling 453-7661 or downloading an order form at www.BarberInstitute.org.

Tickets for the All-Star game are $4 for adults and $2 for students and senior citizens, and are available in advance at the Barber National Institute main offices on East Avenue and it's campuses in Girard and Corry, as well as at the ball park on game day.

In case of rain cancellation, the game will be played Saturday, June 19 at 2 PM.
