The Forest-Warren Autism Early Identification Diagnostic and Treatment Center offers information and referrals, services, and support to children and adults with autism and their families in Forest-Warren Counties, Pennsylvania.

The Autism Early Identification Diagnostic & Treatment Center provides:

• Staff trained to identify the early symptoms of autism
• 24-hour Crisis intervention with behavior specialists
• Family support groups
• Parents Enabling Parents - a program linking parents experienced and living with autism with families to assist in finding resources and meeting new challenges
• Parent resource library with internet access
• Teleconferencing and Telepsychiatry - enables child psychiatrists in Erie to conduct live video evaluations, reducing the need to travel to Erie for high quality assessment and treatment by a physician specializing in autism
• Ongoing training to help professionals enhance their skills with the latest, best-practice approaches
• Behavioral Health Rehabilitation (Wrap-Around) Services coordinated in the home and the school
• Access to Connections Camp , a summer program for children and adolescents with Asperger Syndrome or High-Functioning Autism.

The Barber National Institute began providing BHRS to Forest-Warren Counties in 2003, and the Autism Early Identification Diagnostic Treatment Center program continues to provide autism diagnosis and treatment in conjunction with BHRS. Connections Camp will be offered in 2007 for the first time in Warren.

This program incorporates many evidence-based approaches for children with autism, and is guided by a focus on Applied Behavior Analysis.

The Autism Early Identification Diagnostic Treatment Center is coordinated by the Dr. Gertrude A. Barber National Institute and funded by a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. We provide families and professionals with expertise and services to assist children with autism.
