Resources for Physician

ASERT Support for Physicians & Medical Professionals

Regional Centers for Autism Services, Education, Research and Training (ASERT) have been established throughout Pennsylvania by the Department of Public Welfare. The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), in collaboration with the Dr. Gertrude A. Barber National Institute, is the ASERT Center for Pennsylvania’s Western Region.

As the ASERT Centers work to enhance the lives of children and adults living with Autism Spectrum Disorders, they serve as a resource for primary care physicians in Pennsylvania.

This section of Autism Insight will be updated with references, professional journal articles and other resources that are provided to physicians to support them in the delivery of quality health care services. For further information or to make a comment or suggestion, email Glynn Chase at GChase@BarberInstitute.org.
