Services for Adults
Behavioral Health Services
The Barber National Institute provides Blended Case Management for adults with behavioral health challenges or autism to help access resources in the community and advocate for supports to meet a variety of needs and build fuller and more enriched lives.
Adult Day Programs
Adult Day Services provide a variety of programs and flexibility in services so that we can best meet the needs of individuals with developmental challenges and maximize individual strengths. We provide services that will foster greater independence, increase community involvement and improve social interaction. These programs include Club Erie, Community Participation Support and Home & Community Habilitation.
Residential Services
The range of options available through Residential Services all promote shared goals: to facilitate individual choice, foster greater independence and community involvement, and provide a comfortable, life-enriching home life. Adult Residential Services offer a multitude of programs for their residents including Community Group Homes, Respite Care, and Lifesharing through Family Living. The Mental Health Partial Program helps individuals with a mental health diagnosis manage daily challenges.
Recreation & Socialization
There are a variety of recreational activities that promote socialization for adults with intellectual disabilities. ESO Dances extend an open invitation to adults with an intellectual disability to enjoy an evening of fun, dancing, and friendship with their peers. ESO Summer Camp offers social opportunities through various skill-building activities, adaptive sports, creative arts, and recreation.
Employment Services
Employment services help individuals with intellectual disabilities build job readiness and also help locate a job in the community. These services range from Small Group Employment (SGE), where an individual can gain a variety of work experiences and specialized training in landscaping, food service, janitorial work, and machine operation, to Supported Employment, in which an individual will have a community-based job assessment, training and help with the job search and interview process, and job coaching once employed.
