Pittsburgh Region Honors Employees for Dedicated Service

Barber National Institute staff in the Adult Day and Residential Programs who are celebrating five-year incremental anniversaries this year were honored at a recognition reception on Thursday, June 30 at Calabria's in Castle Shannon. Thirty three staff members were acknowledged for their dedicated work ethic and continued support of the Barber National Institute mission. John Barber, president and chief executive officer, served as the reception's key note speaker. He thanked those in attendance by saying, "It is not just the amount of years you have been a part of the Barber National Institute family, but the professional and committed manner in which you have served them."

Administrative secretary Lynn Godish was recognized for 20 years of continued service to the Institute. The following celebrated their 10-year milestones: Thad Jackman, Judith Frazier, Olivia Isil, Amanda Kuglar, Erika Kurzawa, Amy Jo Macurak, Daniel Streepy, Connie Szafraniec, and James Young. Over 20 staff members were honored for five years of service: Patricia Abercrombie, Kenny Asunbo, Lois Aul, Maria Baker, Timothy Campbell, Meghan Godish, Brian Greer, Donna Hadix, Doreen Herman, Priscilla Kasonde, Rebecca Klanchar, Tammi McCray, Michele Miller, Sammy Obiero, Trina Pfanstiel, Brian Sinyangwe, Zeyu Su, Jeffrey Truxell, Richard Vargo, Laura Walsh, April Youkers, Rita Youkers, and Mirriam Matulula.

"We are pleased to have offered services to adults with disabilities in Allegheny County for over a decade," said Barber. "It is our committed staff who truly make a difference in the lives of those we serve."
